Thread Note is a local-first note app for creating and browsing threaded notes. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app stores, how voice input works, and how users can remove their data.
Thread Note stores the following information locally on the user’s device:
This data is stored locally on the device. Thread Note does not require an account and does not operate a backend server that collects, syncs, or stores user notes or recent note activity.
Thread Note does not collect or transmit the following to the developer:

Thread Note includes optional voice input. When the user starts voice input, the app requests microphone access and uses speech recognition services provided by the device or operating system.
Thread Note receives recognized text and places that text into the note editor. Thread Note does not store raw audio recordings. Depending on the user’s device settings and speech recognition provider, speech may be processed by the operating system or a system speech service, such as Google speech services on Android. That processing is governed by the user’s device settings and the relevant provider’s privacy terms.
Users can deny microphone permission or disable it later in system settings. Manual text entry remains available without microphone access.
Thread Note does not share notes, note metadata, or raw audio with the developer’s servers because the app does not use a developer-operated server for app data.
Speech recognition may involve the operating system or system speech provider as described above.
Notes remain on the user’s device until the user deletes them or uninstalls the app.
When a note is moved to trash, Thread Note removes the note text but may keep a small placeholder in the thread so the surrounding thread structure remains understandable. Users can later delete the placeholder, split following notes into new threads, or reconnect the surrounding notes.
Uninstalling Thread Note removes app-local data from the device according to the operating system’s app data behavior.
Thread Note is not directed to children under 13. The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Thread Note keeps app data in local device storage. Users should protect their device with the security options provided by their operating system, such as a passcode, biometric lock, and device backup settings.
We may update this Privacy Policy when Thread Note changes. The effective date above will be updated when material changes are made.
